IntimaLase®
Laser Treatment
for Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome

Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS) is described as laxity of the vaginal wall and can result in loss of friction and sexual satisfaction for both a woman and her partner. Overstretching of the vaginal wall during childbirth(s), congenital connective tissue weakness and natural aging are the most common causes. Until now, invasive surgeries have been the desired choice; however there are many post-operative complications and a low level of satisfaction with the results.

How It Works

IntimaLase® is a non-invasive Er:YAG laser treatment for Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS). This non-ablative therapy uses mild and controlled thermal energy to create tissue tightening and collagen regeneration to the vaginal canal. It affects both the mucosal tissue and endopelvic fascia.

The Nanaimo Medi Spa Method

IntimaLase ® is performed using Fotona’s 2940nm Er:YAG non-ablative laser with proprietary ‘Smooth-mode’ technology. A device similar to a speculum is inserted into the vagina to allow short laser pulses to thermally affect the vaginal tissue. This stimulation of collagen restructuring and regrowth causes tightening of the vaginal wall achieving increased sexual gratification.

A consultation is necessary to determine suitability for treatment and Dr. Tonia Winchester, ND has partnered with Nanaimo Medi Spa to complete a medical intake and assist with any test or exam that may be required.

Procedure & Expected Results

Two treatments are administered one month apart. Each treatment is 20 minutes long and you can leave immediately after, with no down-time to your daily routine. There may be some mild sensitivity after the procedure and a transparent discharge for 2 to 3 days afterwards. Sexual intercourse is not recommended for one week after the procedure.

95% of women indicated they experienced a more than moderate level of vaginal tightening.

Testimonial

Following a global evolution toward minimally-invasive and patient-friendly procedures, a new protocol for vaginal tightening “Intimalase” has been developed that can provide patient vaginal rejuvenation, avoiding undesirable complications that are present in more invasive treatment alternatives such as CO2 laser.

As an experienced gynecologist with more than 30 years of practice, I felt really excited when I was introduced to this novel, extremely innovative laser technology for the treatment of Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome. After doing the procedure for one year I can say that IntimaLase is a great solution for vaginal tightening. Many of my patients highly praise the therapy for its minimal invasiveness and noticeable improvements in their sexual gratification. For me this is a simple, safe and efficacious procedure which enabled me to broaden the range of aesthetic gynecological therapies our clinic offers.
